Travel & Stay

London has endless accommodation options, so where you stay really depends on the kind of weekend you’d like to have. To help our guests coming from near and far, we’ve included a few neighborhood recommendations below.

Stay

Weekend Getaway

If you're arriving Friday or Saturday and heading home shortly after the celebrations, we'd recommend staying in or around the City of London, Shoreditch, or Liverpool Street. These areas are close to The Libertine, making it easy to get to and from the wedding.

Why stay here? The City is London's historic financial district with fantastic hotels and transport, while Shoreditch offers a trendier vibe with great food, bars, and nightlife. Together, they make an easy and convenient base for a short London stay.

Our Neighborhood

If you'd like to experience the area we live in, we'd recommend staying in Islington, Highbury, or Angel. You'll find great cafés, pubs, independent shops, and plenty of local restaurants, with easy transport into central London and to the wedding venues.

Why stay here? This is our neighborhood, and we'll be around the area all week before the wedding. We'd love to see you exploring our corner of London — and it won't take much to twist our arm for a drink at The Compton Arms, our first date spot. North London is home to some of the best pubs, so consider this your excuse to settle in, explore, and have a pint or two!

The London Experience

If you're planning to spend a few extra days exploring London, we'd recommend staying in Marylebone, South Kensington, or Covent Garden. These areas are perfectly placed for many of London's most famous sights, museums, shopping, and restaurants.

Why stay here? These are classic London neighborhoods that make exploring the city easy — beautiful streets, incredible dining, world-class museums, and some of the best shopping in London are all close by.

Travel

Flying

Fly into either LHR (London Heathrow Airport) or LGW (London Gatwick Airport) — both serve international flights and offer easy connections to central London.

For European travel before or after the wedding, LTN (Luton), STN (Stansted), and LCY (London City) provide a range of short-haul flights.

Getting around

Tube & Overground:

The easiest way to travel across London. Trains run frequently, cover most areas, and are usually the quickest way to get from one part of the city to another.

You can tap in and out using any contactless card or mobile payment — no tickets needed.

Buses:

A great way to see more of London while you travel. Buses run day and night and often connect areas the Tube doesn’t.

Just tap once when you board with a contactless card or mobile payment — no need to tap out.

Taxis & Ride-Shares:

Black cabs and Uber are widely available — ideal for late nights, traveling with luggage, or when you’d prefer a direct ride.
